Project Green Prom – Launching tonight (4/6) here in NYC!

Teens Turning Green is a national movement of teens on a mission to transform the world by advocating for change in policy and practices that will protect our environment, and educate peers and the community about healthy lifestyle choices. Aside from graduation, prom is probably the 2nd most important event to any high school student. That’s why Teens Turning Green created the Project Green Prom contest to challenge teens to “green” their proms.

Through collaborative efforts with Whole Foods Market, Teens Turning Green challenged high school students across the nation to create an action plan of how they’re making creating a more sustainable prom this year. The goal is to get students to start finding greener prom alternatives in hair, makeup, skin & body care products, attire & accessories, décor, transportation, flowers, and more! In order to ensure teens across the country have access to eco-friendly proms Teens Turning Green has created a do-it-yourself prom makeover resource guide. It includes everything teens need to throw a green prom: how-to tips, advice from fashion, makeup, food and design sustainability experts, photos and video blogs.
